UK imposes ban on imports of gold, coal, oil from Russia

MOSCOW, Jul 21 (PRIME) -- The U.K. has banned imports of Russian gold from Thursday, of coal from August 10 and of oil from December 31, the British government said in a statement published Thursday on its website.

“This amendment prohibits the import of oil and oil products, coal and coal products and gold as well as the acquisition, supply and delivery, directly or indirectly of these goods,” the statement read.

“The prohibition on the import of gold entered into force on 21 July, the prohibition on the import of coal will take effect on 10 August 2022 and the prohibition on the import of oil will take effect on 31 December 2022,” the statement read.

The amendment also prohibits the provision of technical assistance, financial services and funds and brokering services relating to these goods.
